At the end of the year, following recognition for its strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, DDOR has received another significant confirmation of its dedication in this area – it has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest voluntary initiative for sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, coordinated by today’s most important international organization.
Unipol Group, as a proven company applying sustainable development principles in its business strategy, joined the UN Global Compact in 2018, the world’s largest initiative for corporate sustainability. Since then, the Group submits annual progress reports in the field of sustainable development, covering the four pillars of the Global Compact: human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption policies.
In early 2023, DDOR strengthened its organizational structure by establishing the Department for Sustainable Development. Alongside all planned activities related to aligning our core business with the principles of responsible business (ESG in a broader sense), formal confirmation was obtained for all previous and ongoing actions. In addition to all mentioned, DDOR follows the strong support and example of its parent company.
By joining the UN Global Compact, DDOR, as one of the leading insurance companies in Serbia and the first in the insurance industry, becomes part of a global community of over 15 thousand companies from 162 countries worldwide.
As a socially responsible company, DDOR sees its role not only in providing insurance services but also in making a positive contribution to the community and the environment. By becoming part of this global initiative, DDOR has the opportunity to exchange best practices with similar companies worldwide, learn from sustainability leaders, and actively participate in creating positive changes at the local and global levels.
