At the Round Table “Challenges of ESG Reporting”, which was held during the STADA Expo ESG festival in Studentski Grad in Belgrade, the Director of the Sustainable Development department, Leo Pandžić, confirmed how important it is to recognize key processes, activities and aspects of the Company’s impact on the environment and community, in order to create an authoritative and credible report on sustainable business transparently, objectively, in accordance with the regulations and the request of the parent company Unipol Group.
Managing sustainability also means transparent reporting. It is the letter “G” in the abbreviation “ESG” (Governance) that defines how a company manages the letters “E” and “S” within ESG, i.e., the protection of the natural environment and the well-being of all participants in the insurance processes.
The basis of reporting is not only the fulfillment of the current regulatory framework, but also communication through which, first of all, internal employees within a company would be familiar with the concept of sustainability and activities to support it, and then communication to the wider public.
“We are a company, and I am glad that we are recognized by the general public as well, that carefully and consistently integrates sustainability into its business processes and policies, and the managing “G” aspect is an advantage and the basis by which we proactively develop and implement projects and actions with “E” or “S” characteristics. For the last 8 years, the practice has been that we have informed our parent company in detail with information about sustainability, on approximately 200 questions, according to the international GRI methodology.
Unipol is a true leader in implementing the ESG framework in their business processes, and DDOR has the full support of the parent company in this. We try to ensure that our actions match the defined goals of the Group, and the proof of this is that in our Non-Financial Report for the year 2023 we explicitly inform the public about actions, their metrics and realizations” Leo concluded.
