The OGYRE global community is made of water, ocean, sea lovers, fishermen and companies who share the common goal of protecting the world’s most precious resource: water and the sea. DDOR osiguranje, as a company dedicated to sustainable development and preservation of the ecosystem, joined this great community in the desire to contribute to the well-being of our planet.
DDOR has, inspired by the activities of its parent Unipol Group, acquired O-bottles that are made of BPA-free material. Our Company acquired 1,500 such bottles, and so has invested in the removal of 1.5 tons of marine waste and thus contributed to the regeneration of the Mediterranean Sea. O-bottles were distributed to each employee as a birthday present, saving an average of 230 plastic water bottles (per person) per year and avoiding the creation of new waste.
Together with the OGYRE global community, we have contributed to the achievement of the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the following ways:
- Goal 14 Life under water – 1,500 kg of various marine waste was collected.
- Goal 17 Partnership to the goals – 166 partners are involved.
- Goal 8 Decent work and economic growth – 100% fair treatment of fishermen Goal 12 Responsible consumption and production – thanks to our campaign, 225 kg of waste was recycled.
- Goal 6 Clean water and sanitation – Estimated annual prevention of spills of 75 kg of microplastics.
- Goal 13 Climate action – 16 fishermen supported thanks to us.
The presented results are an indicator of how responsible companies can actively engage in environmental protection. DDOR Insurance continues its mission of commitment to sustainable development, so it will continue to strive to constantly strengthen its leadership position and recognition in this area.
